The residents of Tenkasi have been given an eye-opening education in the essential world of palliative care, thanks to SEEDS Palliative Care, led by the Percy Jebamalar Legacy Foundation. The team recently wrapped up an enlightening week-long event series designed to raise awareness and provide essential knowledge about palliative care in Tenkasi.
The events took place at multiple venues throughout Tenkasi, including CSI Baren Bruck Hospital in Athisayapuram, JP Engineering College and Amar Seva in Aykudi, as well as Emmanuel Matric. Hr. Sec. School in Melagaram. Activities spanned from in-depth workshops to medical camps and discussions aimed at engaging the community in meaningful dialogues about the need for palliative care in Tenkasi.
This week-long initiative concluded with a special event on October 14th—World Hospice and Palliative Care Day. Held at Hotel Soundharyaa, the event saw the participation of renowned medical professionals, community leaders, and educators from Tenkasi and the surrounding regions.
The activities also served as a fitting tribute to Percy Jebamalar, marking the first death anniversary of this great individual, whose spirit and vision live on through the foundation’s work.
The concluding event was a networking dinner that allowed professionals, both medical and non-medical, to come together and discuss the future of palliative care in the Tenkasi district. It served as a fertile ground for future collaborations and initiatives, solidifying the week’s events as a massive success.
